(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota oil is expected to generate eight-point-four billion dollars in royalties for education. New data from First International Bank and Trust shows the industry is growing in the state. North Dakota collected 455-million dollars in oil and gas royalties on state-owned minerals in the fiscal year of 2025. The money directly benefits the Common Schools Trust Fund for K-through-12 education. The value of the state’s minerals is estimated at two-point-one billion dollars at this time but is expected to rise.
