(Bismarck, ND) — A Bismarck couple will serve probation after pleading guilty to child neglect. Joseph Summerville and Amie Sarty were sentenced to two years of probation and chemical dependency evaluations for locking their children in a closet while they smoked marijuana. The couple was arrested in November. Their three children were found in a closet that was tied shut when staff entered the unit for scheduled pest control. They were both ordered to complete parent-nurturing classes as part of the plea deal.
