(Bismarck, ND) — Lawmakers will hold a three-day special session next month focused only on rural healthcare. The session is scheduled to bring state lawmakers back to Bismarck on January 21st. At least 500-million dollars will be granted to the state over the next five years through a federal program. Lawmakers will be allocating that money and looking at bills to improve the amounts received by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services toward rural communities.
