(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota is closing in on becoming the first state to provide 100-percent internet access. The state is providing access to 99-percent of its citizens at the moment thanks in part to its Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment plan. Leaders expect the state to achieve 100-percent coverage over the next two years. BEAD Director Brian Newby says people expect fast internet speeds these days. He says people have adopted high-speed internet as part of society and for many it has become a necessity.
