(Sioux Falls, SD) — A Sioux Falls daycare worker charged with felony abuse has reached a plea deal. Mia Lopez was arrested in April after she was accused of pushing wood chips into a four-year-old’s mouth. It happened while she was working at La Petite Academy. Yesterday, she pleaded guilty to contributing to the abuse of a child — a misdemeanor — and had other charges against her dropped. Lopez was given a 90-day suspended jail sentence.
