(Undated) — The Bureau of Labor Statistics show South Dakota’s unemployment rate is the lowest in the nation at one-point-eight percent. Washington D.C. is the highest at five-point-nine percent. Since the rates lag the economy by about six to 12 months, the slowdown in this year’s tourism and construction has yet to be reflected in the data.
