Alternative Instruction Enrollment Triples Over Last 10 Years

(Undated) — Education officials say alternative instruction enrollment has tripled over the last ten years. A little over 12-thousand 400 students are participating in modified education programs — which accounts for seven-point six percent. For the second consecutive year public school enrollment continues to decline. The Sioux Falls School District has the highest enrollment of students in alternative instruction this year. Governor Rhoden says declining public school enrollment is likely due to having other available options and low birth rates.
