(Bismarck, ND) — A series of proclamations have been signed by North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong. They include naming January 2026 Stalking Awareness Month, Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month, and No Kill Animal Shelter Month. Armstrong said 11 million people are stalked in a one-year period in the U.S and the majority of the victims are stalked by someone they know. For human trafficking awareness, the governor said “a successful response for human trafficking requires a coordinated, community wide effort.” Armstrong’s proclamation for No-Kill animal shelters aims for the state to achieve “No-Kill” in 2026. Along with the three month long proclamations, January 5th through the 9th has been named Student Internet Safety Week.
