Five North Dakotans Apply For Board Of Higher Education Vacancy

(Bismarck, ND) — Five North Dakotans are hoping to fill the vacancy on the Board of Higher Education. Three of those candidates are from Bismarck. The first is Alyssa Martin, the state director of the North Dakota Center for Distance Education, along with Stan Schauer, the director of assessments for the state Department of Public Instruction, and Darin Scherr, the business and operations manager for Bismarck public schools. The position was opened after Levi Bachmeier became the Superintendent of Public Instruction. The person chosen will finish his term, which ends on January 30th, 2029.
