(Bismarck, ND) — Lisa Fair McEvers makes history becoming the first female Chief Justice to the Supreme Court. McEvers was sworn in on Tuesday afternoon in front of family, friends and colleagues. She’s served on the Supreme Court since 2014 and takes over as Chief Justice for Jon Jensen. McEvers grew up in Minot just north of Grand Forks and is the daughter of a lawyer. She said in a speech the moment is a big deal but she is not a big deal and she is proud to carry on her family’s tradition.
