(Rapid City, SD) — A Rapid City-based National Guard battalion is getting a welcome home ceremony this weekend. The South Dakota National Guard says the ceremony for the 109th Engineer Battalion will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. The event will celebrate the battalion’s return from a 13-month deployment to the U.S. southern border. Governor Rhoden and other dignitaries are expected to speak at the event being held at the Range Road Armory in Rapid City.
