(Washington DC) — South Dakota’s John Thune is calling the Senate’s advancement of a resolution to block President Trump from taking more military action in Venezuela without Congressional approval ‘unfortunate.’ Five Republicans joined with Democrats to move the measure forward yesterday and it will be debated next week. Thune says the Senate will have to spend time debating the measure when they should be focused on passing appropriation bills ahead of a January 30th deadline.
