(Rapid City, SD) — Police say a drunk driver is to blame for causing damage to multiple vehicles in Rapid City. Authorities say 27-year-old Veronica Perez was too impaired to operate a silver Mazda when it crashed into a retaining wall on Sunday around 2:40 p.m. Before crashing into the wall, Perez is accused of speeding, running a red light at Haines Avenue and Anamosa Street, and crashing into two other vehicles. Witnesses say Perez left the scene of the crash when her car finally came to a halt. She’s being charged with DUI, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
