(Bismarck, ND) — Legislators are preparing a special session to distribute 200-million dollars to rural health projects. The Rural Health Transformation Committee spent Tuesday and Wednesday at the Capitol deciding how to proceed. A special session is scheduled for January 21st. The funds were awarded to the state through the Big Beautiful Bill as a way to offset Medicaid cuts. The committee will be reviewing grant applications from organizations throughout the state and must allocate the money by September.
