(Potter County, SD) — Game, Fish and Parks are saying a Golden Eagle was shot in Potter County last week. The eagle was discovered with multiple shotgun pellets in its wing and taken to a rehabilitation facility. Officials say the eagle will remain in captivity for the rest of its life due to its injuries. Golden Eagles are a protected species. The South Dakota Turn In Poachers group is asking the public to contact them if anyone has information on the shooting.
