(Fargo, ND) — The Fargo-Moorhead Area Diversion project is receiving another round of funding. A budget of one-billion dollars was approved by the Diversion Board of Authority to complete the project in 2027. The infrastructure is designed to hold back the Red River during extreme flooding situations. A director with the board says most of the construction will be completed this year. The overall project cost will total close to three-point-two-billion dollars and will be paid for with a combination of federal, state and local funds.
