North Dakota Department Of Mineral Resources Analyze Venezuela Impacts

(Bismarck, ND) — Officials say impacts on the state oil industry from political events in Venezuela were short-lived. The Department of Mineral Resources said production in the state remains resilient. They said immediately after the announcement that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro had been captured, oil prices went up about three-dollars a barrel. They said prices normalized quickly after. The department says they don’t expect any more short-term impacts, but long-term impacts are still uncertain.
