(Grand Forks, ND) — New footage shows the moments before a deputy shot and killed a woman holding a hostage. County prosecutors have already ruled the deputy had no other choice and the shooting was justified. Sheriff’s deputies used a drone to look into the window of an apartment to see a woman who told 911 operators she was holding the man hostage. When deputies kicked in the apartment door, they saw Alice Nesdahl raise a knife to the hostage’s neck before shooting her several times. Nesdahl and a 911 dispatcher had several conversations in which she said, “I’m going to be holding him hostage until you guys deal something with these groups that keep killing.”
