(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota House is nearly unanimous in its agreement to distribute federal healthcare funding. House Bill 1623 was passed on Thursday after a 90-to-two vote. The money allocates and distributes nearly 200-million dollars in funding this year to four different categories. About 116-million will go towards improving healthcare access in rural areas, 33-million will go to technology upgrades, 32-million to workforce recruitment and 17-million to combat chronic disease through exercise and diet promotion. The bill is expected to go to the state Senate on Friday.
