Governor Larry Rhoden Introduces Bill To Protect Religious Gatherings

(Pierre, SD) — Governor Larry Rhoden says Senate Bill 113 would protect religious freedom. The bill would make any disruption of worship a felony in South Dakota. The proposal comes after a disruption to a religious ceremony in Minneapolis earlier this week. It’s co-sponsored by Senator Mehlhaff and Representative Odenback. Rhoden says that religious freedom is the “bedrock of our nation” and adds that as a state “we take action when freedom is threatened.”
