(Sioux Falls, SD) — A Pennington County woman will face life in prison for first degree murder. She was sentenced on Monday and given an additional 25 years for the attempted murder of the first victim’s brother. Pam White Butterfly was convicted 11 months ago for the murder of Lenart Brown Eyes and attempted murder of Gerard Brown Eyes. Gerard Brown Eyes was shot once in the head but still survived and managed to call 9-1-1. He testified at the sentencing hearing saying White Butterfly’s actions were not the “Lakota way.”
