(Rapid City, SD) — Rapid City Police are saying a 19-year-old is facing charges for a shooting on Friday. Officers found shell casings on the 700 block of East Anamosa Street after responding to multiple calls of gunshots in the area. Tristin Black Elk was spotted by officers walking on 7th Street carrying a handgun. Despite running away when officers approached him, he was eventually taken into custody and arrested for aggravated assault, reckless discharge of a firearm and discharge of a firearm at a structure. The shooting is under investigation.
