AG Jackley Appearing In New York Court For Abortion Case

(Undated) — Attorney General Marty Jackley will be in New York for a hearing about abortion ads. Jackley will argue that a counter lawsuit filed by New York-based Mayday Health should be heard and settled in South Dakota state court instead of federal court. He filed a lawsuit against Mayday for advertising abortion pills at gas stations in South Dakota in December. In a release, Jackley said, “federal courts must refrain from interfering with ongoing state court proceedings and to respect state sovereignty when there exists important state interests.” The motion hearing is set for Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Thurgood Marshall United States Courthouse in New York City.
