(Bismarck, ND) — Governor Kelly Armstrong says the state’s population grew for the fourth consecutive year. It means the state likely surpassed 800-thousand residents some time in August. As of July 1st, the U.S. Census estimated that North Dakota had a population of 799-thousand-358. That was an increase of more than 20-thousand residents compared to the 2020 census. The state had a brief decline in population during 2021, corresponding with the COVID-19 pandemic, but has risen every other year since.
