(Minnehaha County, SD) — The owner of Medstar Paramedic Ambulance says he may pull service from Minnehaha County. The company CEO told county commissioners on Tuesday that his company has been unable to make a profit. He asked the commission to supplement the company’s base contract with a new contract for transportation of deceased persons. Medstar says they’re also upset they haven’t been granted a 90-thousand dollar subsidy other rural ambulance services have received. Commissioners said their application is incomplete seemed confident they could retain ambulance services regardless of what Medstar decides to do.
