Landowners Asked To Turn Unproductive Farmland Into Wildlife Habitat

(Bismarck, ND) — A new program is incentivising farmers to turn unproductive land into a wildlife habitat. Governor Kelly Armstrong introduced the program during a press conference on Thursday. He says it will help farmers make their land more profitable. It’s designed to help the soil and provide benefits to hunters who will have access to a larger habitat. The program has enough funding to turn 10-thousand acres of farmland into grassland. North Dakota Farmers Union board members are on board too, calling it “a great program,” that offsets “low commodity prices.”
