(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota Republicans are endorsing two incumbents and a Bismarck businessman in District 47. Incumbent Senator Michael Dwyer and Representative Mike Motschenbacher received endorsements for reelection while businessman Jon Lee is the party’s endorsed candidate for the district’s second seat in the House. Lee will be running to replace incumbent Lawrence Klemin, who announced he will retire when his current term ends in November. Andrew Alexis Varvel is running for one of the House seats as an Independent after coming up short as a Democrat in the 2022 U.S. Senate race. The district covers a portion of Bismarck north of I-94, west of Highway 83 and east of the Missouri River.
