(Rapid City, SD) — The Rapid City Fire Department is saying they responded to more than 22-thousand calls last year. That’s a two-point-one percent increase compared to 2024. The majority of the calls were for medical emergencies while more than 14-hundred calls were false alarms and only 230 were for fire-related incidents. August was the department’s busiest month with the agency receiving just shy of four-thousand calls. They reported no civilian fire-related fatalities last year and only eight firefighters were injured during fire incidents.
