Florida Man Arrested In Stanley For Stabbing

(Stanley, ND) — A man from Florida is facing assault charges for stabbing an Amtrak crew member. An affidavit says Jared Long was swinging punches at passengers before a crew member pulled him off. During the altercation, Long struck the crew member several times in the arm with a knife. He was eventually subdued by the conductor with pepper spray just outside of Stanley. He was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and simple assault.
