(Rapid City, SD) — Rapid City Regional Airport is one step closer to a major expansion project. The Rapid City Legal and Finance Committee voted Wednesday to approve 44-million dollars for an expansion project at the airport. It’s part of a larger vision to add five new gates to the airport’s terminal. The request now goes to the City Council where a vote is expected next Tuesday. Airport officials hope to break ground within twelve-to-24 months.
