(Pierre, SD) — State Senators are asking voters to choose if they want mobile sports betting. A resolution passed in the Senate that would put the question of legalizing mobile sports betting on the November election ballot. Now it is heading to the state House. Neighboring states of Iowa and Wyoming have already legalized online sports betting and proponents of the bill say many South Dakotans already travel to those states to place their bets. A condition of the bill is that all wagers must be routed through a licensed Deadwood Casino. Sponsors say it would bring revenue that could be used for property tax relief.
