Governor Larry Rhoden To Share Property Tax Plan

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Governor Larry Rhoden is teasing his bill to reduce property taxes in the state. He spoke about his plan during a town hall in Sioux Falls hosted by the Americans for Prosperity advocacy group. He says many of the other solutions that have been proposed misidentify the problem as a state-wide issue instead of a county issue. His plan would replace the county portion of property taxes with a half-cent sales tax. He says property taxes are really only a problem for about five counties.
