(Watford City, ND) — Watford City continues to see growth despite lowering oil prices. Conventional patterns have shown that as oil prices drop, so does the work force, but school enrollment surged by ten percent this year. Superintendent Steve Holen says he hopes it shows the city is gaining some stability. City administrators say that even though drilling has slowed, midstream energy jobs have kept families rooted in the city. The city is building more established stores, too, which have been convincing temporary workers to find permanent work in the area.
