(Cass County, ND) — A traffic stop in Cass County leads to a police chase that ended in Minnesota. It happened on Saturday morning around 2:40 a.m. when a deputy conducted a traffic stop on County Road 17 near 64th Avenue. The driver was identified as 39-year-old Nicholas Wessels who was wanted for active warrants. When he was advised that he was under arrest, he took off and crossed state lines into Minnesota. Spike strips were deployed but the vehicle continued down the street, causing damage to the roadway before Wessels was taken into custody. He had two passengers with him during the chase but both were released from the scene.
