(Sioux Falls, SD) — Smithfield Foods is moving its processing plant in Falls Park to Foundation Park. The company expects to spend more than one-point-three billion dollars over the next three years on a new facility and needs permit approval to start building the new plant. It also needs to be approved by the company’s board of directors. The CEO and President says the new plant will be a state of the art, fresh pork and packaged meats facility. Many residents in the Sioux Falls area have connections to Smithfield, which was previously known as John Morrell.
