Minot Air Force Base Making Progress Toward Nuclear Modernization

(Minot, ND) — Military leaders say the Minot Air Force Base is making progress towards nuclear modernization. Sen. John Hoeven was in Minot on Tuesday to check in on the progress. The base has been approved for seven-billion dollars to secure their nuclear systems and another billion for new engines in B-52 airplanes. The Minot Air Force Base is the only dual nuclear base in the country with bombs and missiles. A project to upgrade the base’s long-range missile systems is expected to ramp up later this year.
