(Sioux Falls, SD) — More details are being released about the decision to move Smithfield. The new location will be close to the Crooks City line at 471st Avenue and Highway 130. The Sioux Falls Development Foundation says they purchased four houses in the area to expand Foundation Park and make room for more companies to build. A 90-million dollar TIF plan will be presented to the City Council in March to help funding for the new building. Smithfield says it will be a state-of-the-art hog processing plant that demonstrates the state’s commitment to investing in agriculture.
