(Sioux Falls, SD) — Both sides in the Dylan Farmer murder trial are resting their case. Farmer is charged with first- and second-degree murder in the death of Casey Shaffer in 2024. The defense argued that the prosecution did not have enough evidence, pointing out they could never find a murder weapon. Prosecution, meanwhile, believes they established a motive and received six different confessions by Farmer that proves his guilt. Closing statements are scheduled for Thursday before a jury makes its decision.
