NACD Elects Mark Masters as President-Elect

The National Association of Conservation Districts has elected Mark Masters of southwest Georgia to serve as the association’s President-Elect. Masters will serve a one-year term alongside current NACD President Gairy Blair before stepping into the role of president in 2027.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Mark for the past few years,” said Blair. “Mark brings dedication to locally-led conservation, and the knowledge and leadership needed to help NACD achieve bold new horizons.”

Masters currently serves as Executive Director of the Georgia Water Planning and Policy Center, where he focuses on water use and management issues while supporting conservation research and outreach efforts nationwide. His work centers on advancing science-based water policy and strengthening collaboration between local, state and national partners.

He is also a graduate of the National Conservation Foundation’s inaugural Next Generation Leadership Institute Cohort, a program designed to develop emerging leaders in conservation.

In addition to his professional leadership, Masters operates a beef cow and timber farm with his family in southwest Georgia. He and his wife, Amy, have three children.
