(Pierre, SD) — The state House Education Committee is pushing a bill to manage violent and aggressive students. The bill would allow the school board or administrators to send students to alternative learning settings as long as a written notice is provided to parents. Parents would be able to appeal the decision. The bill is heading to a full House debate. Last month, the Education Department told the House Education Committee that teachers are increasingly facing aggressive, violent behavior from students.
