(Pierre, SD) — Governor Larry Rhoden is hoping a new law will bring more healthcare professionals to rural South Dakota. He signed HB 1043 into law on Tuesday. The bill sets money aside to reimburse healthcare professionals who meet certain requirements for serving rural communities. It’s an extension of a bill signed earlier this year that funds the Rural Health Transformation Program. Rhoden has signed 58 bills into law this session and only issued one veto.
