(Minot, ND) — A judge is canceling the trial for Daniel Breijo over the shooting death of Nicolas Van Pelt. It was set to begin on March 16th. Judge Daniel El-Dweek ordered a continuance of the trial to address a series of disputes over evidence in the case and other motions. Breijo is charged with murder for the shooting death of Van Pelt, who was an Air National Guardsman. A scheduling conference for a new trial was set for Friday and an evidentiary hearing is scheduled for March 26th.
