(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota Transportation Commission is awarding 21 grants to improve bridges in the state. The grants total about 17-point-eight million dollars. Members of the commission assigned the 21 Bridge Improvement Grants after their February meeting. The South Dakota Department of Transportation received 71 applications for the BIG grants, choosing three cities and ten counties as the winners. The city of Sioux Falls is the recipient of four of the grants.
