(Minnehaha County, SD) — Jubal Rattler is guilty of manslaughter but not guilty of murder in the Eighth Street Bridge case. The jury returned its verdict on the 2025 death of Doris High Elk late on Tuesday. Video from the area showed Rattler pushing High Elk off a ledge near the bridge, causing her to hit her head and die less than a week later. Prosecutors said that the push was not accidental while the defense argued it was not intentional. The trial took five days.
