(Bismarck, ND) — Taxable sales data from 2025 shows an increase in purchases by a quarter of a percent from 2024. Tax Commissioner Brian Kroshus presented the data saying retail was the state’s largest revenue category. He also noted that mining and oil progressed year over year, particularly in the second half of 2025. Construction and real estate sales saw an increase over five percent while the cities of Steele, Divide, Dickey, Burke and Slope saw the largest increases compared to the previous year. In total, sales and purchases rose to 27-point-one-six billion dollars in 2025.
