(Minot, ND) — The former treasurer of the Pheasants for the Future group is pleading not guilty to stealing from them. Michael Johnson waived his preliminary hearing and entered a not guilty plea to charges of misapplication of entrusted property. Johnson is accused of taking money from the organization between 2018 and 2025. Records indicated Johnson admitted to the group’s president that he used money to pay employees at a separate business but he intended to pay it back. He is accused of taking more than 174-thousand dollars.
