Summit Pipeline Permit Revoked By North Dakota Judge

(Bismarck, ND) — A judge is revoking Summit Carbon Solutions’ permits for underground carbon dioxide storage. The ruling upholds a previous decision in December that says the permits violate the state Constitution. Lawyers from Summit Carbon Solutions say the permits hold legal merit from a 2009 law, which is how the permits were issued. The permits would have allowed the company to build underground carbon storage tankers on private property, prompting the lawsuit by those property owners. Summit says they have already leased a large portion of the space for the project and will continue to advance it however they can.
