(Beulah, ND) — Two employees put on leave for ties to a gambling investigation are back to work. Granville “Beaver” Brinkman and Marcie Krumwiede returned to work for the city of Beulah and Beulah Police Department after a special City Council meeting on Monday. The meeting lasted two hours and centered around state Attorney General Drew Wrigley’s complaint alleging more than 100-thousand dollars in gambling proceeds were funneled to illegal expenses in Beulah. The board decided that it was Mayor Sean Cheatley and Council President Jason Isaak’s decision on how to handle discipline since they are Brinkman and Krumwiede’s direct supervisors. Cheatley said he was surprised and angered by the allegations but stressed that both are innocent until proven guilty.
