(Mandan, ND) — A Mandan man is facing charges of manslaughter in connection to a fatal hit-and-run. Garret Randall Kuntz is accused of hitting a man with his truck along Interstate 94 on December 21st, 2025. He told investigators at the time that he hit a deer. Investigators asked Kuntz if he had seen what he hit and he told them he didn’t and that it was, “more than likely,” because he was on his phone. Kuntz’s car was found with damage to the front bumper, front headlights and a sock was stuck in the axel that matched a sock found at the crash scene.
