Custer State Park Says Wildlife Is Safe From Qury Fire

(Custer, SD) — Officials at Custer State Park say wildlife is staying away from the Qury Fire. The fire has burned roughly 84-hundred acres and was 27-percent contained as of Monday. Park officials say the park’s well-known bison herd and burros are staying away from the fire in the southeast corner of the park. Many areas are closed to give firefighters more room to operate. Park officials are warning drivers in the area that smoky conditions are likely and they should be prepared to slow down and stay alert.
